AC Milan have signed midfielder Kevin Constant from Genoa on loan to replace Sulley Muntari, who is injured.
Muntari has impressed since joining Milan in January on loan from rivals, Inter Milan. He was expected to sign a permanent deal, before injuring his knee during an international match with Ghana.
Milan have now turned to Constant, bringing the 25-year-old player over to their side on loan, with an option to make the move permanent.
Wolfsburg have signed Austrian defender Emanuel Pogatetz from Bundesliga rivals Hannover for an undisclosed fee.
Felix Magath, head coach at Wolfsburg, had this to say about the latest addition to his squad: “Emanuel Pogatetz is a robust defender, who is uncompromising in the challenge, , and will help strengthen our defence. I’m delighted to be able to welcome him into our squad ahead of next season.”
Pogatetz played 29 times for Hannover in the Bundesliga last season, totalling 57 appearances since arriving from Middlesbrough in 2010.
Bayern Munich defender Diego Contento has extended his contract with the Bundesliga club until 2016.
The 22-year-old full-back, who played in the ill-fated final of the Champions League against Chelsea last month, was previously tied to the club until 2013 but will now spend the next four seasons in Bavaria.
Palermo are ready to sell Matias Silvestre to Inter in a deal that could be worth €10 million.
The Sicilian outfit`s president Maurizio Zamparini has claimed that negotiations with the Nerazzurri are in the final stages and a deal could be struck soon.
Silvestre already announced his intention to leave Palermo after just one season with the Rosanero and has been linked with both Inter and AC Milan.
“I met with Inter president Massimo Moratti. We spoke about Silvestre and we are on the same page,” Zamparini said.
“There is a 99 per cent chance that a deal will be done. It will be a transfer worth around €8m to €10m.”
Silvestre moved to Italy from Boca Juniors in 2008 and spent three seasons at Catania before making the switch to Palermo last summer.
