Turkish international Hamit Altintop is reported to be close on moving to this origin country.

His agent revealed to Turkish media that Galatasaray are favorites on signing the the 29-year-old, who never played in Turkey.

“Negotiations are on the run, the talks are looking promising, I believe the transfer will be completed by the end of the week”, said Hamit’s agent.

Altintop is current under contract with Real Madrid. His twin brother decided to move to Turkey last summer, signing with Trabzonspor.

England midfielder Joe Cole said Monday he would love to finally prove himself at Liverpool after a successful loan season at French club Lille.

The 30-year-old endured a poor campaign with the Reds after joining on a free transfer from Chelsea in July 2010.

But he helped Lille finish third in Ligue 1, scoring nine goals in 42 appearances for Rudi Garcia’s side in the 2011-2012 campaign.

I would love the chance – if they wanted to – to put it right,” he told Sky Sports News.

“It’s just that season at Liverpool. It’s in their hands. I’m easy whatever way but the fire still burns with me and I would love to have the chance put it right if that’s what they wanted.”

According to the largest global football follower survey, 19-time champions Manchester United has 659 million followers worldwide.The survey gathered 54,000 respondents from 39 countries, a release stated.

In the survey, Kantar also found that football remains the world’s most popular sport, with 1.6 billion followers globally, reinforcing the results of a recent FIFA survey which produced a similar figure.
